Based on the principle of a dirty vodka martini, the jalapiñi takes all things olive and substitutes them with pickled jalapeños instead. Not for the faint of heart, this delicious drink makes an excellent apéritif when spicy food is on the menu.
2½ ounces vodka
1½ teaspoons dry vermouth
1 splash of pickled jalapeño juice
1 or 2 pickled jalapeño slices
1½ teaspoons dry vermouth
1 splash of pickled jalapeño juice
1 or 2 pickled jalapeño slices
In a mixing glass half-filled with ice cubes, combine the gin or vodka, vermouth and pickled jalapeño juice. Stir well. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with the pickled jalapeño slices.
